Small Group, 1-to-1 and 1-to-2 Lessons 

To ensure every swimmer gets the attention they deserve, we offer small group sessions, one-to-one and one-to-two swimming lessons – with the teacher in the water to offer support, build confidence and execute good stroke technique. Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and is booked in blocks of four. 

Highly Qualified Instructors 

Every SwimTech instructor holds a Level 2 swimming teaching qualification, and all teachers have undergone enhanced DBS checks, First Aid training, and safeguarding training. This ensures your child’s lessons are not only productive, but also delivered in the safest possible environment. 

Exclusive Use of Our Pool 

Unlike many other swim schools, SwimTech has its own private pool in Wideopen. This gives us the flexibility to adapt lessons to customers needs. Lessons are taught in a controlled environment – with parents on poolside so swimmers and parents can see and hear one another, helping swimmers feel comfortable and confident in the water. 

Swim England Accredited Programme 

We follow the nationally recognised Swim England Learn to Swim framework, giving swimmers a structured path to success. This programme is widely respected across the UK and ensures consistent, high-quality teaching. 

Catch-Up Lessons Included 

Life can be busy, and we understand that sometimes a lesson may be missed. That’s why SwimTech endeavours to offer catch-up sessions, giving families flexibility and peace of mind.

Our Venues

SwimTech Swim School is proud to teach from two fantastic venues in Newcastle and North Tyneside: 

SwimTech Pool, Wideopen – our own private pool, exclusively for SwimTech swimmers, and Benfield Sports Centre – a popular, well-equipped venue with excellent facilities. 

Both venues provide safe, welcoming environments where swimmers of all ages can learn and enjoy the water.

Our very own pool at Greenfields Community Primary School is at the heart of SwimTech. Since acquiring exclusive use of the pool in 2010, we’ve been able to offer lessons here six days a week (Monday to Saturday), creating a truly dedicated environment for our swimmers. 

Benfield Sports Centre

Our second teaching venue is at the popular Benfield Sports Centre, a fantastic facility that allows us to cater for a wider range of swimmers. Here, SwimTech runs lessons on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, offering flexibility for busy families. 

Swimming Lessons in Newcastle and North Tyneside

At SwimTech, we are mindful of individual needs and each swimmers potential. Beside our main aim – to teach swimming – we also focus children’s confidence, self worth and enjoyment. 

Our private Swimming Lessons are designed to suit each swimmer’s individual needs, whether they are complete beginners or working towards advanced skills. We are experienced in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, tailoring our approach to suit each swimmer’s abilities (SEND). 

Swimtech children’s Swimming Lessons are fun, engaging sessions and we like to see all our swimmers arrive with a smile on their face and leave with an even bigger smile! 

Adult Swimming Lessons – it’s never too late to learn. We offer supportive 1-to-1 lessons for adults who are either learning to swim for the first time or improving their existing skills.
